An Overview of Access to HE Diplomas and Making Meaningful Offers: A Guide for HE Admissions Staff
Access to HE Diploma courses are aimed at adults who may have few, or no, formal qualifications and are designed to provide both the skills and academic subject knowledge to progress to higher education (HE). Each year approximately 20,000 Access to HE Diploma learners progress on to HE. With a growing focus on increasing the number of mature students in HE following a recent decline in numbers post pandemic, it is important that HE providers ensure that their admissions requirements for Access to HE Diploma applicants are fair and meaningful. We hope that this guide supports HE Admissions staff to ensure that this is the case.
