Ravensbourne's Summer School programme

Ravensbourne University, London is hosting a range of Summer Schools on-campus this year. Summer Schools are free, open to learners aged 16+ and aimed at providing young people with first-hand experience of a university, developing their creative skillset and learning more about creative careers and study pathways.

23rd-24th June (10-15.30 everyday): Media Summer School
This summer school is for learners interested in telling stories, working with cameras and a future in the Media world. Across 2 days, participants will work with industry-standard equipment in the Ravensbourne studios, learning about rigging, camera operating, production, colour grading, editing and sound production.
24th-26th June (10-15.30 everyday): Character Design and Cosplay Summer School
Character Design is a key part of Illustration, Animation, Games, Concept Art and Storytelling. Across 3 days, learners will be designing concepts for new characters using 2D methods, then turning them into cosplay costumes as 3D models.
26th June (10-15.30): Fashion Taster Day
In just one day, learners will explore print design and manufacturing, creative direction and styling and how to bring a successful brand to market! This Fashion Taster Day is run by tutors from the Design, Promotion and Brand Management courses.
3rd-4th July (10-15.30 everyday): Graphic Design Summer School
In this two-day summer school, learners will explore type and typography, print and editorial and use problem solving skills to create eye catching design solutions. This would suit anyone who is interested in learning more about the role of graphic design across different creative industries.
7th-11th July (10-15.30 everyday): Make It! Work Experience Summer School
This project would be great for learners currently studying or interested in: Digital Content Creation, Creative Media, Film, TV, Product Design, 3D Design, Marketing, Advertising, Photography, Graphic Design or anything creative. Across 5 days, learners will develop and pitch an innovative product or service, honing key creative and teamwork skills along the way.
9th-10th July (10-15:30 everyday): Architecture Summer School In this two-day summer school, learners will delve into the fundamentals of architectural design, exploring how the built environment shapes our daily lives. Through the hands-on workshop, learners will develop creative solutions to real-world spatial challenges. This would suit anyone curious about architecture, urban design, or the role of space in society.
