Keep form tutors and heads of year informed about the HE engagement plans for the year, and how they can support the events and activities. We recommend that you split these meetings by Key Stage group.
It’s important that your colleagues are aware of the events that are planned in the calendar and what is expected of their students. That way they will be able to support in the preparation for trips and events, by making sure the students have permission to attend, that their class teachers are aware and that their parents are informed. They can also support if students need to catch up on work missed while they are away.
Holding an open meeting is very useful, but make sure you come prepared with key information, such as dates, themes of the activities, and how your colleagues can support.
This is a great opportunity to get your colleagues enthusiastic about the HE engagement work that is happening. It is also a chance to see where there are opportunities to combine pre-existing work, for example PSHE and careers talks, with HE events and the activities.
